If you’ve ever watched the Portlandia episode where the Flaming Lips perform at the Pickathon, you may have noticed the groovy blue jacket that Wayne has on. Those are some hip threads, but they’re not very cool. They turned Wayne into a truly flaming Lip. In an old Instagram post, he talked about how hot the jacket was and he blamed it as the reason they only performed one tune at the Pickathon that day. Apologizing to those that had been in the audience, he explained:
“I was stupid and wore (like you see in the pic) my futuristic metallic blue leather suit and sweated so much I got heat exhaustion and was throwing up…I didn’t want to puke on everyone so we just did the one song..”
Not wanting to puke on everyone…now that’s class.
