Zaireeka was described thusly in a recent article published on Classical-Music.com named as one of 14 “gloriously strange” concept albums. That Zaireeka should be on the list is no news to Lips fans but it’s good that the wider world is reminded of this creative wonder, and the exploration of sounds falling out of sync that led to its creation. I love the idea behind Zaireeka, I love the weirdness and I love that it’s an ongoing experiment for listeners. As the article in Classical-Music.com puts it: “… each playback yields a unique experience, making it both frustrating and exhilarating.”
